The island is accessible with daily flights from and to the airport of Syros in Athens International Airport, Eleftherios Venizelos (AIA). (Flight duration: 25 minutes)
Syros Airport (JSY), which was established in 1992, is located approx. 3 km from the center of Syros.
It was named “Dimitrios Vikelas” after the Greek poet, novelist, and writer Dimitris Vikelas, who was born in Syros Island.

Within Syros, transportation can be made with private cars, local buses, taxis, and boats.
In case anyone wants to choose a private car for transport to the island, one car hire from local car rental companies or through a travel agency.
The local bus service covers most of the island especially during the summer months. The local buses connect Ermoupoli with Galissas, Finikas, Posidonia, Megas Gialos, Vari, Azolimnos, Kini, Anno Mana, Chroussa, Parakopi, and Vissa, while municipal buses are also available, free of charge.
