SIFF invites Σtella to usher in the evening at Komito, a beach on the island’s southwestern shore, with a live performance following a day’s worth of mythmaking.
Stella Chronopoulou is a pop singer-songwriter, musician, and visual artist based in Athens, Greece. Her debut self-titled album, released by Inner Ear Records (GR) in early 2015, quickly became one of the most popular Greek indie albums of the year, with songs like “Picking Words” and “Detox” enjoying extensive radio airplay. In February 2017, Inner Ear released her sophomore album, Works for You, hailed by US blog Earmilk as “a sure treat!” Aside from her solo projects, Σtella frequently works with producer NTEiBINT. Together they have released four critically-acclaimed singles on Eskimo Recordings (BE) and collaborated on the music for the athletes’ parade at the Opening Ceremony of the Baku 2015 European Games. The music for the entire Ceremony was nominated for a Daytime Emmy Award in 2016. Having played extensively around Greece, Σtella has also been touring internationally, including shows in the US (SXSW Music Festival), France (Europavox), UK, and Germany.
