During the 2021 festival edition, SIFF guests discuss their methods in an open, informal setting, guiding the audience through their creative processes and inviting us to interact with their work beyond the screening space and the boundaries of the frame.

Public discussion with Dimitra Kondylatou
Dimitra Kondylatou is a visual artist and filmmaker participating in the SIFF 2021 edition with the film Backyard with a View – an original SIFF commission. During the first “Off Season” festival in July 2020, Kondylatou led the “Alternate Paths” workshop, which led to the creation of the short film presented in this year’s program.

Public discussion with Costis Drygianakis
Costis Drygianakis is a sound artist participating in the SIFF 2021 program with a live score of Salt for Svanetia, fusing historical and field recordings, musical elements, and industrial noises, while balancing  on the tightrope between fiction and ethnography.


All discussions are held in English and can accommodate a strict number of twenty-five (25) attendants, on a first come, first served basis.

The venue for the Open Discussions is Hotel Ploes, located at the beginning of Apollonos street, in the Vaporia neighborhood in central Hermoupolis. The terrace is accessible through the side entrance to the left of the main entrance.
