17.00–20:15
Alternate Paths: I Walk Where you Walk
Pink House press (Ersi Varveri and Gijs Waterschoot) are organising an afternoon walk that aims to highlight the distinctive, almost invisible stone carvings that are scattered along the streets and rocks of Ermoupolis, Ano Syros and the surrounding areas.
Info/Registration: alternatepaths@syrosfilmfestival.org / +30 6949233790.

The walk follows on their recently published book ‘I write what you write, I walk where you walk’. The book includes a project that began in 2020, mapping existing inscriptions dating back to the 19th century, as well as including a guide to new epigraphs they have engraved themselves with contributions from various artists.

We invite you to navigate with them and discover these traces that will introduce us to a closer relationship with the city. We will walk through Agios Nikolaos area and Vrondado and head towards the church of Resurrection, where we will take a short break with a treat and from there, we will walk back downhill to the city centre to finish at Miaouli Square.

The meeting’s starting point is at Nisaki, Platia Agnostou Nauti on 28/07 at 17:00.

*Please note that registration to the event is now closed. Thank you for your interest

Pink house press is a duo composed by Ersi Varveri & Gijs Waterschoot, currently working between Syros (GR) and Antwerp (BE).

Pink House press underlines the importance and urgency of printed matter as a possible medium and vehicle to generate space, and to create dialogues that touches upon topics such as the development of public discourse through artistic practices, and the publication as a portable-hospitable artist-run space.
