Cinemascope: A Filmmaking Lab
“Cinemascope”, SIFF’s first filmmaking lab for teenagers, takes place on July 2-10. Twelve selected participants explore visual language by working on their ideas for stories, building them into scripts and filming them using provided camera equipment. The results of the lab will screen at the end of the festival.
Participation in the workshop, co-organized by the Syros International Film Festival and the Onassis Cultural Centre, is free of charge.
The lab is led by Oliwia Twardowska and Konstantinos Antonopoulos, and coordinated by Myrto Lavda, the Head of Educational Programme of the Onassis Cultural Centre.
Konstantinos Antonopoulos studied film directing at Columbia University, New York. His short films Lea and Without Glasses have won prizes in festivals. He believes in patience.
Oliwia Twardowska was born and raised in Poland. She is a graduate of the School of Film Studies of the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki, and since 2005 lives and works in Greece, collaborating with the Greek Film Centre, the Greek National Opera and the Onassis Cultural Centre.
